Faculty Senate
The governance structure of Goodwin University allows for shared responsibilities and contributions by the faculty through participation in decision making and problem solving through the body of the Faculty Senate.
The governing system is accessible, respects all constituents, and enables all to participate and have influence on decisions that affect them. It allows an open and direct, democratic process to determine the consensus of the faculty. The Faculty Senate is involved in formulation of educational planning, policy and implementation.
Participation in the Senate fosters and maintains full and open communication and appropriate sharing of information among faculty, departments, administration, advisory and trustee boards and initiates concerns and issues to the Faculty and Staff Forum. It also provides a consistent, yet flexible structure for timely college planning, decision making and problem solving.
Mission
To participate in the governance of The University by formulating and advocating the faculty perspective regarding academic policies, issues and concerns.
