Parth Desai, OTD, OTR/L, MCMT has been a hands on occupational therapy practitioner since 2008. He received his Masters from Boston University in 2008 in Occupational Therapy; and his Doctorate in Occupational Therapy in 2011 from Chatham University. Parth has been teaching at Goodwin University since 2016 and has progressed his career from an Adjunct Instructor to currently the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program Director and an Assistant Professor at Goodwin University.
Parth has recently been given the title Teaching Fellow after completing cohort three of the Universal Design for Learning's 9 month program. He regularly and consistently uses a UDL pedagogy within his classes in order to maximize student learning.

Successful outcomes are measured by more than the student’s cumulative average within the class, but in my eyes by the intangible feelings of competence and accomplishment. As OTA 216 class is the final class in the occupational therapy program at Goodwin college before fieldwork, it is my personal goal to ensure that each student completing my class feels he or she is ready to tackle the challenges within the clinic with confidence along with the educational knowledge. This can only be achieved when each student is taught in a manner that matches his or her unique learning style. This dedication to practicing a student-centered approach goes beyond the classroom in hopes of transforming motivated students to robust occupational therapy clinicians. Any teacher can have a student learn; but those that make a difference have students understand.

Dr. Parth Desai, OTD, OTR/L, MCMT areas of interest are primarily in assessing student learning and performance within non-traditional classroom settings using a Universal Design for Learning Pedagogy.
