I started my career with my first job at 15 as a teller in a local bank. I aspired to work in business at a young age and achieved my goal by obtaining my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. During my 15 year career in business, I worked a variety of fields including Human Resources, Operations, Retail, Customer Service, and Management.

Even though I found success in business, I was not fulfilled by my career so I decided to go back to school to become a teacher. I went back to school more than 10 years later and earned my Master's degree in Education including a teaching certificate in Business Education for 7-12th grades. I worked at a local high school system and realized that teaching was more rewarding and challenging than any job I have had previously.

My intention was to have a long career as a high school teacher but I ended up working in higher education and quickly realized that it was my calling. Since starting at Goodwin in 2010, I have enjoyed being in the classroom and seeing the difference I can make in the lives of students. Most recently, I have become a Doctor of Education and look forward to a long career in education.

I feel that students have the ability to be successful if they believe in themselves, work hard and have teachers that can guide and inspire them.
