Bio
Nicole Brewer received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Hollins University and her Master of Arts degree in Humanities and Social Thought from New York University. Professor Brewer believes in the transformative power of education. For her, education is not only about developing skills, but it is also about building self-worth and self-confidence. She co-authored a book with her father, Roger Brewer, called Withstanding the Lie, which was published in 2008. The book, a collection of short stories and essays, explores ways in which individuals can cope with the mental and emotional pain caused by discrimination.
