Congratulations to the Navigators men’s basketball team on placing 31st on the pre-season Rawlings NCCBA Division 1 rankings — an outstanding achievement as this is a national list. Goodwin’s Director of Student Retention, Campus Recreation, and Athletics Eric Emet reports, “I’m quite optimistic about this year’s squad, as we’ve already defeated three teams ranked significantly higher than Goodwin.”
The Navs’ captain and current Criminal Justice major Michael Hemingway leads the team both on and off the court, carrying a 3.71 GPA and serving as a four-year starting guard.
The men will have to work hard to live up to their ranking; winning the conference will require beating Harvard, Sacred Heart, Assumption, Skidmore, University of Vermont, and UMass Lowell.
“Playing in the New England Region Conference will put more miles on our team bus,” Emet continued, “but it will definitely make for quite a memorable season!”
