LEARN, southeastern Connecticut’s Regional Educational Service Center, and Goodwin University announce the appointment of Kayleigh Conrad as assistant principal of Riverside Magnet School (RMS). The appointment is effective July 1, 2022.
RMS is a Reggio Emilia-inspired elementary magnet school, offering children (prekindergarten through grade 5), an exciting curriculum that focuses on building literacy, numeracy, social, and physical skills. Riverside Magnet School is part of the LEARN Family of Schools and of the Goodwin University Magnet School System.
A resident of Avon, Connecticut, Ms. Conrad is known for creating a welcoming, collaborative environment for families. Previously, she held teaching and instructional coaching positions at schools in East Hartford and Massachusetts. Most recently, Ms. Conrad served as the interim assistant principal for the Thomas S. O’Connell School, a kindergarten-grade 5 elementary school. With a Bachelor of Arts in English and Elementary Education, a Master of Arts in Teaching, and a Sixth-Year Diploma from the UCONN Administrator Preparation Program, Ms. Conrad will promote the mission and vision of RMS while establishing high expectations and standards for student learning and behavior.
Kate Ericson, LEARN’s Executive Director is excited for Ms. Conrad to join the RMS community, stating, “Ms. Conrad will be a great compliment to the RMS leadership team. She brings her background in instructional coaching to the assistant principal position and will support students, teachers, and parents in ensuring a successful early educational career for each student.”
Dr. Salvatore Menzo, Superintendent of Magnet Schools at Goodwin University, echoes the positive impact Ms. Conrad will have: “We are excited for Kayleigh to join the RMS team. She brings a great deal of practical experience with scholars and families. Her energy and passion for education is contagious and will certainly complement our new leadership team.”
