Military Friendly® Schools recognize commitment to graduate students
Goodwin University has received a Top Ten designation from Military Friendly® Schools for its service to graduate students who are current and veteran members of the military.
“We have been recognized by Military Friendly® Schools in past years as a Gold Level Military Friendly® School and a Military Friendly® Spouse School,” said Craig Jordan, Veterans Coordinator in Student Affairs at the University. “We are honored that our service to graduate students is also being spotlighted. Our goal is to support military students at all points of their educational journeys.”
In 2021, Goodwin opened its new Veterans OASIS in the main academic building, adjacent to Student Affairs. “With the addition of this resource, plus having full-time VA Certifying School Official Rexhina Januzi in our Registrar’s Office helping our veterans process their enrollment benefits and working directly with the VA processing center to advocate for our students, we continually find ways to help our students to succeed,” added Jordan.
The Military Friendly® Schools program is created each year based on extensive research using public data sources for more than 8,800 schools nationwide, input from student veterans, and responses to a proprietary, a data-driven survey from participating institutions. The survey questions, methodology, criteria, and weighting were developed with the assistance of an independent research firm and an advisory council of educators and employers.
“Our standards assist schools by providing a benchmark that promotes positive educational outcomes, resources, and support services that better the educational landscape and provide opportunity for the Military Community,” said Kayla Lopez, National Director of Military Partnerships for Military Friendly®.
